Outlander: Blood of My Blood gets its first trailer, revealing the prequel show's release window. Based on the fiction novels by Diana Gabaldon, Outlander premiered in 2014 on Starz, following World War II nurse Claire Randall (Caitríona Balfe) after she travels back in time and falls in love with a Highland warrior named Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). The franchise is next set to expand with the Outlander: Blood of My Blood prequel show that chronicles the love stories of Jamie's parents and Claire's parents.
Now, Starz shares the first trailer for Outlander: Blood of my Blood, revealing that the show will premiere on the network at some point in summer 2025. No specific release date is provided, but the trailer does tease that the new show will feature plenty of the same romance and historical drama that made the original show so successful. Our Take On The Outlander Blood Of My Blood Trailer
Why It Could Be The Perfect Mix Of Fresh & Familiar

The original series has succeeded in part due to the Outlander cast, but also due to the mix of historical thrills and steamy romance. Blood of My Blood has a series of strong performers playing characters like Ellen MacKenzie, Brian Fraser, Julia Moriston, and Henry Beauchamp, and the trailer suggests it will be attempting to strike a similar narrative and tonal balance.
What will be interesting this time is the addition of the World War I time period. This could end up injecting some freshness into the show, serving as an exciting new backdrop for a passionate love story. The inclusion of the Scottish Highlands once more, though, means the prequel isn't straying too far from what audiences love about the original. It remains to be seen how Outlander: Blood of My Blood will fare with audiences, but there evidently isn't too much longer to wait.
