Prince Louis celebrates his seventh birthday today and Kensington Palace have marked the occasion with the release of a new picture and video.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared an adorable behind-the-scenes video from their photoshoot of Louis' new birthday picture.
The young royal, who is celebrating his seventh birthday today, is seen in some sweet, moving shots, seemingly trying to capture the best angle for his new photograph. Louis, the third child and second-born son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, looks smart in a white checkered shirt under a green jumper. His look is complete with a pair of blue jeans. The new image is taken by photographer Josh Shinner.
Putting in his own input into the shoot, Louis can be heard saying, "I can jump down from here." He is then seen walking along a fallen tree trunk before jumping high in the air.

The adorable video was filmed by the Prince and Princess of Wales's social media team and a short statement accompanying the clip says: "Seven today!"
Earlier today, Kensington Palace released a new picture of the young royal - seemingly the end result from the shoot day.
Louis is seen smiling wide as he sits on a tree trunk against a beautiful spring backdrop, surrounded by bluebells.
The image was taken in the garden of Anmer Hall, the family’s residence on the Sandringham Estate.

While Princess Kate has not spoken about her feelings ahead of Louis’ birthday today, she did mention a few years ago that her youngest son seems to be growing quickly.
At a previous royal engagement at a maternity unit in Surrey, the royal told some mothers: "I keep thinking Louis is a baby, but he’s a big boy now."
Although plans for Louis's birthday remain unknown, it is likely that he will celebrate with his parents and siblings.
